How to Score 880 in Yahtzee with Buddies Part 2

How to Score 880 in Yahtzee with Buddies

Perfect 880 Score
9/1/2016. Caution: You may be sent to the cheater's board. You've been warned.

Getting a score of 880 in a Premium or Daily Tournament takes time. About one or two hours and multiple devices are required to accomplish the 880 score.  This is part II in the post on how to get 880 (a perfect score or 13 yahtzees).  You can read part I here. Thank you for being so patient to those who wrote in to the blog and emailed me.

Some resort to more devices so they don't have to stop and clear the cache (android phones) or reload the app (iPhones).  Someone wrote in and said they had 12 devices!

How do you get 13 yahtzees and not just any 13 yahtzees in a row?  In order to be successful at getting this score, you'll need to score the first yahtzee worth 50 points and it can be any of the yahtzees.  It doesn't matter you get 50 points.  The outline for how to get the next yahtzees are outlined below.

1) 50 points any yahtzee to start off with

2) Go for the upper section dice 1 through 6.  Try to get a yahtzee of each of those.  You must get a yahtzee of each of them.  Doesn't matter in what order, just all of them.  Getting the yahtzees with the correct dice will yield 440 points.

3) You MUST get 3 additional yahtzees of 6s.  One for the three of a kind, One for the four of a kind, and one for Chance.  This alone is 180 points.
Multiple Devices for Getting 880

4) The next three yahtzees can be of anything.  You just need to get three yahtzees and score them in the Full House, Small Straight and Large Straight.  Try to get them in that order.  The reason is that if you can't get a yahtzee the ability to get 25, 30, 40 points will still be possible. The bottom section will also give you 440 points.  Combined with the upper section: 880 points!

5) If you have yahtzee with buddies on Facebook, you can use one turn as a life-saver.

6) Use your triple replay as a last resort meaning that you've used up all the devices and didn't get the yahtzee you needed.

For the devices: They must be different devices.  If you have some that are the same, they will all generate the same rolls! Example: If you have two iPhone 5s' then it won't work. (Thanks to the lady that allowed me to use her devices as an illustration) The method illustrated above also works on Dice with Buddies.

It costs 30, 40, or 100 bonus rolls to play the premium tournaments but the daily tournament is free.  The prizes for the premium tournament can go from 1,000 bonus rolls to 2,000 bonus rolls.  Most of the time the average is 1,000 or 1,800 bonus rolls.

Is this cheating?  The only way to get the platinum dice is to win a premium tournament three times.  This means getting 880.  I have not seen a day that the winner hasn't gotten the perfect score.  It would be nice if the people using these techniques would stick to the premium so that those with not very  many bonus rolls could stick to the daily free tournament.  Better yet, have Scopely fix it (several techinques are available to prevent) so that it is fair for everyone.

Dice Master Showdown in Yahtzee with Buddies

The Dice Master Showdown that has 28 dice masters is ending March 7th, 2016.  The Dice Master Showdown (DMS) is the fastest way to earn XP at the top level (20K, 25K, 30K, 40K, and 50K of XP).  Normally, you are permitted to play each of the dice masters beginning with "Onsie" once per day.  Since the yesterday, when the new update came out, Scopely has changed the "day wait period" and now it can be skipped by using bonus rolls.

If you lose in a "level" of the dice master showdown, you lose progress to the lowest rung of that level.  Say you're at AMETHYST (the final tier), and you lose to Lord Rollerby, you will drop down to Cpt. Two Beard (20K XP) and can fight back up to the dice masters instead of going all the way to the bottom (1 of 28 rung).  Remember that!

Using what I just wrote about, you could earn millions of points in the next week!  Good luck  from Yahtzee Blogger!

Unlock Pink Star Custom Dice in Yahtzee with Buddies

The Pink Star dice are between the mint custom dice and the chocolate strawberry custom dice.  They are offered for the price of 400 diamonds for the third season of dice duels.

They are kind of plain for me and don't have the cool factor.  But these just might be what you are looking for?

Of course they are limited time and may be offered in some other way like getting a 1-5 finish in the premium tournament or winning the daily free tournament.

Unlock Chocolate Strawberry Dice in Yahtzee with Buddies

Do you have 650 diamonds burning a hole in your diamond bag?  Did you collect a lot of diamonds from playing the dice duels and don't know how to spend them?  Now you can add chocolate strawberry custom dice to your collection.

The chocolate strawberry and the pink star are the two that are offered with the dice duels season 3.

Unlock Mint Custom Dice in Yahtzee with Buddies

A lot of people write in and ask, "What are diamonds used for in Yahtzee with Buddies?  I win them and collect them but what can you do with them?"  This is the first set of custom dice, if I am not mistaken that you can purchase without cash directly but with diamonds?  Are you going to fork over the 200 diamonds that it costs to buy?

They appeared today (2/18/2016) on the custom dice tab after you tap award (star on android)

So, you can get the Mint Custom Dice with Diamonds.  I'd like to see something that offered them with bonus rolls also.

Parade of Presidents in Yahtzee with Buddies

The Parade of Presidents has just opened in Yahtzee with Buddies.  The showdown will last 21 days and have to beat nine dice masters in order to get your custom dice!

You can use bonus rolls to skip the wait as usual.   The first wait can be skipped by spending 2 bonus rolls and progressively gets more expensive.
I don't see anything about a vanity frame on this one so it might just be the dice and a lot of chances to get XP, since there are only 9 dice masters.  How to beat John F. Kennedice?  You'll need two yathzees! I also listed how many bonus rolls to avoid the wait.

The dice masters that you'll need to beat are:

BRONZE LEVEL: (5 Bonus Rolls for Completing)
George Onesington: 50 XP, 165 Avg.
Fourmas Jefferson: 100XP, 195 Avg. (2 BR Skip)
John Quintsy Adams: 200 XP, 215 Avg. (3 BR Skip)

SILVER LEVEL (10 Bonus Rolls for Completing)
Honest Eight Lincoln: 500 XP, 230 Avg. (4 BR Skip)
Teddy Rollsevelt: 1,000 XP, 255 Avg. (6 BR Skip)
Wouldroll Wilson: 1,500 XP, 270 Avg. (8 BR Skip)

GOLD LEVEL (15 Bonus Rolls for Completing + Custom Dice)
Harry S. Twoman: 2,000 XP, 280 Avg. (10 BR Skip)
Dwight Eisenroller: 3,000 XP, 300 Avg. (12 BR Skip)
John F. Kennedice: 5,000 XP, 321 Avg. (15 BR Skip)

Once you beat them all, you receive this message at the end. There is no mention of getting anything new, such as a vanity frame but here is what I paid to get this in one day:

60 Bonus Rolls Used
30 Bonus Rolls Won

13,350 XP gained in one day.

My Current Custom Dice in Yahtzee with Buddies

I have been asked to post what my current custom dice collection looks like.  I don't have all of them and I'm missing quite a few.  Here are my current dice as of 2016.02.13.

From the items that are locked, I am missing the Black Diamond Dice, Platinum Dice and the Candy Custom Dice that is part of the community event.

Many of these were obtained from completing the goals of the achievements listed on the awards screen. The rest were given by participating in the community events like the clue community event

Every now and then, Scopely gives dice simply for entering a tournament or for get 1 through 10 in the premium.

Good Luck Custom Dice Collectors!

Hot Shooter IV in Yahtzee with Buddies

The Hot Shooter is an achievement in the winner category.

The Hot Shooter IV Achievement in Yahtzee with Buddies is the final achievement level worth 2,500 XP when you complete it.  What makes this so difficult is that one must defeat fifty (50) opponents without losing - in a row!  Do you think that it is impossible?  Nope.  It was actually pretty easy.  Here is the proof.  Note that I actually made it to 63 before I lost (I forgot and made a move).

In order to win 50 games in a row, you'll have to play over 100 concurrent games at once.  The reason is that you probably win half the games that you play.

As you play a game, you can tell which games you are going to win, keep playing those.

Games where you determine you will lose, stall.  You can only stall a game for seven days before you lose.  You have seven (7) days to win 50 games, or about 7 or 8 games per day.

When I lost that game, I was into day three so I could have gone to about 120 or so games in a row before I would have started to forfeit/lose automatically.

Good luck and let me know if this helped...

Triple Replay in Yahtzee with Buddies

Yahtzee with Buddies now has the "Triple Replay." The little message says, "Bad rolls getting you down? Triple Replay allows you to reset your turn with 3 fresh rolls!"  It goes on to say, "They can only be used after a Bonus Roll, and cost 5 Bonus Rolls to use. Your first one is free, use it now!"

Notice the big blue button at the bottom.  It tells you how many rolls that you have available for use.

Ugh.  I have accidentally tapped on this button already.

People already complain that people that buy bonus rolls have an advantage. Do you like the new Triple Replay feature or do you believe it makes it unfair for bonus roll hoarders? Or do you go to the other extreme and say that bonus rolls should be eliminated to make it fair for all.  Chime in!

The Triple Replay can only be used once per game including tournaments.

Yahtzee with Buddies Candy Custom Dice Event

Scopely has a very short (6 days) to get the candy custom dice.  In order to get them, as with any community event is to first get the minimum required number of hearts.  In this case, 240 hearts.

The quickest and easiest (relative) is entering the FastPlay tournaments because you earn big chunks of hearts.  You earn 20 hearts for winning a bronze with a two bonus roll entry.  40 Hearts are earned for winning a silver (8 entry bonus roll entry fee)  tournament and 60 hearts are awarded for winning a gold tournament and costs 15 bonus rolls for entering.

Since Scopely moved the tournament entry screen to the main events and awards page it is easier to see at a glance how you can get the most hearts based on your bonus roll counts.  I completed the challenge the first day via the gold tournament entry.  I noticed a lot of the top players are using that very same method.

Another way is winning a head to head match versus another person.  One heart is awarded.

After you beat the minimum, you are awarded scratchers for every 75 hearts.

Here is what the dice look like.  Do you like them?

Are you going to try to complete the community event?

Yahtzee with Buddies Defending Champion

When you play and defeat a player you receive a trophy.  But, did you notice that for each win, you receive a different trophy? It appears that the maximum recognized winning streak is 10.  I defeated several people 11 times in a row and the counter remained at 10 for all of them.

Sorry, if you were one of those that I defeated so that I could get a screen screen shot of the trophy.

The trophy for winning 10 games in a row in yahtzee with buddies looks pretty cool.  What do you think?

6/21/2017: The limit has been changed by Scopely and the number goes up to as many actual wins you have!  Send in your high score defending champ screen shot and I'll post it!  At least 20 to get posted.

Valentine's Showdown on Yahtzee with Buddies

Yahtzee with Buddies just started the Valentine's Showdown.  It looks like you get a custom vanity frame and dice after you beat the showdown five times. The showdown lasts until Feb 14th, 2016. You should have enough time to at least defeat the dice masters once to get the vanity frame.

The dice look like the little candy sweets. :)
The vanity frame has the heart with tiny hearts that get filled in each time you beat the showdown.

These are the dice masters that you'll face.  I haven't gone through at this moment but I'll fill in the info as I progress as usual. You can skip the waiting period by using some of your bonus rolls.

BRONZE  LEVEL (5 Bonus Roll Prize)
Two Love: 50 XP, 160 Avg.
Fourmance: 100 XP, 180 Avg
Twopid: 200 XP, 220 Avg

SILVER LEVEL (10 Bonus Roll Prize)
Two Cute: 300 XP, 235 Avg
XOXO: 500 XP, 245 Avg
Four Ever: 750 XP, 255 Avg
Sweet Three: 1,000 XP, 270 Avg

GOLD LEVEL (25 Bonus Roll Prize + Vanity Frame)
Marry Three: 2,000 XP, 285 Avg
Tuxthreedo: 2,500 XP, 305 Avg
Rollaway Bride: 3,000 XP, 315 Avg
Lil Rasroll: 4,000 XP, 325 Avg
Afourdite: 5,000 XP, 340 Avg

If you beat the valentine's showdown at least once then you'll see this message when you are victorious!  Are you going to play it and beat it five more times?

I usually don't unless there is a set of custom dice as a reward but the little hearts that fill in the vanity frame don't excite me.

Do you play this showdown?
