Monopoly Community Event in Yahtzee with Buddies

Monopoly Community Event
The Monopoly Community Event has begun.  What is a Yahtzee with Buddies Community Event?  It is where the player attempts to get a certain number of symbols (Monopoly Emblems in this case - Money) within a time period (21 days).  The Monopoly symbols "Little M's" are earned for winning games versus the dice masters in the monopoly tower showdown, or player versus player.  If you collect 240 of these symbols before the community event finishes, you qualify to get a custom set of dice!  But, since the community must also meet a combined total of these symbols to be awarded after the community event finishes.

Notice, I need only 30 more to get the 240 as of this screenshot.

I haven't seen a community event where the challenge wasn't met.

Monopoly Custom Dice Award

These are the custom dice that will be awarded if the money is collected by the deadline. I also saw a platinum monopoly dice that were similar to the president dice but no mention of them yet.  They could be offered via a special diamond purchase.

Diamonds are award for advancing, along with XP and Monopoly symbols that you need to hit the magic 240 number to get the community challenge.

There are 15 dice masters in this showdown and they are obviously related to the monopoly theme.  Five dice masters per section or tier (Bronze, Silver and Gold)

As is typical with the showdowns, you can pay a skip wait fee in bonus rolls, otherwise there is a once per day attempt.  The triple replay is in effect also.

How to Get Diamonds in Yahtzee with Buddies

Yahtzee with Buddies introduced Diamonds earlier without really giving a way to earn them and didn't explain the most asked question sent in to me: "What are diamonds used for in Yahtzee with Buddies?" and the response is, "Diamonds are used as a form of game currency."  That's a good answer but what do I do with them?  Scopely slowly started incorporating what to do with diamonds - Buy Custom Dice with Diamonds, or skip wait time in the dice master showdowns.

How do you earn diamonds in Yahtzee with Buddies? Of course you probably want to know how to get them without buying them too!

The examples explain how to get them but don't guarantee that you will get them.  Almost all require that you win the game, either against the computer or person (PvP)

Method One: Buy Diamonds
Qty: 1,125, Cost: $99.99  8.88 cents per diamond
Qty: 510, Cost $49.99 9,80 cents per diamond
Qty: 190, Cost $19.99 10.52 cents per diamond
Qty: 85, Cost $9.99 11.75 cents per diamond
Qty: 40, Cost $4.99 12.48 cents per diamond

Method Two: Earn Diamonds Playing
1) Every day there is a daily challenge to earn both bonus rolls and diamonds.  Today's challenge was to complete 3 gold fast play tournaments (cost 45 bonus rolls) and earn 45 diamonds.  In essence a one-to-one trade.  Sure, I'll be glad to do a one for one.

2) Play the Dice Duels.  The dice duels cost an entry fee in diamonds (1, 2, 5, 10, 25) which represents the different tiers of play (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Emerald, Master).  If you win the match, you'll get either (2, 4, 10, 20 or 50 diamonds).  After you reach 100 wins in duels, 50 diamonds are awarded for each win.  Don't forget that you get one free entry per day (day starts at midnight)

3) Enter the premium tournaments if you have enough bonus rolls.  However, unless you know how to get 880 in a tournament, you should look for winning the honorable mention prize.

4) Be on the look out for the special promo that shows how to get diamonds.  Today, it was enter and win a diamond fast play tournament and win 30 diamonds.  Entry fee was only 3 bonus rolls.  The entry fee is slightly more than entering the 2 bonus roll bronze fast play.

I am hoping that Scopely will create a scratcher for diamonds to match the bonus rolls.  As new ways become available, I'll post about it.

Dice Duels Season 4 in Yahtzee with Buddies

Scopely introduced a new season of Dice Duels; I'd prefer to call it a new round instead of season but they made a nice change that addressed one of the biggest complaints: players taking too long. More detail about dice duels can be found on this blog..

The time limit went from 12 hours down to 3 minutes.  This means that your game will be over in about most about 39 minutes (13 x 3 min).  I have noticed that the game will end a lot sooner if you score a yahtzee near the beginning of the game.  People aren't forfeiting by tapping on the "white flag," but simply letting the time run out!

Another change is the doubling of the diamond rewards (2 for 1).  Entry fee starts at one diamond get two for winning, then as you advance in level (bronze, silver, gold, emerald) the fee goes to 2 diamonds, then 5 diamonds at the gold level, 10 diamonds entry at Emerald (win 20) and finally 25 entry for master level (win 50 diamonds).  So, you get diamonds and bonus rolls plus XP as you advance with a shorter time fuse.

The new season lasts until March 21st, 2016.  You have to reach Emerald and win three games in a row to get the dice duel crown. The goal is to get 100 wins.
