Watch Videos for FREE Bonus Rolls - Sometimes a button will appear that allows you get free bonus rolls for watching advertising videos. The videos are about 30 seconds long. You can keep tapping on "watch video" for more bonus rolls.
Tapping on Earn Free - You can get additional bonus rolls by watching or doing something on an external site to get more bonus rolls. Some require you to purchase or sign up for something.
Scratchers after a game - You get a 6 scratcher ticket that can earn you up to 200 bonus rolls but I have never heard of anyone getting more than 1, 2, or 3. I got 10 the other day and was completely surprised.You can get more scratchers by purchasing them.

Win Bonus Rolls in a Tournament - You can get bonus rolls as prizes for defeating certain players, or by winning the tournament. You get 13 bonus rolls for winning a Bronze tournament, 60 for winning a Silver tournament and 120 for winning the Gold tournament in Yahtzee with Buddies. The Premium tournaments go from 200-2000 bonus rolls.
Achieving the Daily Challenge: You can get bonus rolls by accomplishing an achievement. It is a random one selected from the achievement screen.
Receiving from a Facebook Friend - A friend can send you a bonus roll gift through the Facebook app in your browser. Once a day. No matter how many people send, you'll only get credit for the first one.
Leveling Up (Level 2 - Level 18) - Just by leveling up, you get more bonus rolls. The higher the level, the more you get! I just got to level 13 and got 17 Bonus Rolls.
Match of the Day - You'll be offered a certain amount of XP usually 50 points for starting a game that Yahtzee with Buddies displays on your game screen. If they accept, you'll receive a notice that you "won" some XP. I think it should say, "Received."
Hoarding Bonus Rolls - Since you get scratchers and earn bonus rolls from the methods mentioned above, you can just save them by not using them during the game. I have about 500 saved so that I can use them in the tournaments.
Scopely has specials every now and then and gives you more rolls for the price. The red dice were offered up for buying $49.99 pack of bonus rolls and the LCD dice were up for grabs about a month ago.During the Thanksgiving Holiday and after Scopely had a special on different dice. Do you buy them?

"Sometimes a button will appear that will allow you (to) get free rolls by watching advertising videos" - the key word is "sometimes". If you don't or can't pay for rolls, you can't play, period, unless you start or accept a game with someone. So, all those tournaments, etc, you can play one each day, but any more than one and you have to have "rolls". This makes the game slow and frustrating.
ReplyDeleteScopely wants you to buy bonus rolls. You are right, without extra rolls, your chances of winning a tournament are not very good. I've collected a lot of rolls from just not using them in the head to head games and only using them in the tournaments.

ReplyDeleteHi Kristina. Tap on the Dice icon at the top and it will give you the option to buy more bonus rolls, but if you tap the icon to the right (scratcher), you can bring up the scratchers. If you haven't seen many recently, you will have built up quite a few.

You can't click on that, that is just showing you that it's for the scratchers

DeleteTo get to your scratches there is either a ... in the upper right hand corner or on the phones bottom soft button it's the menu one on the left for Samsung's click either and it should say scratchers.

DeleteA while ago I put an ad-blocker app on my device, after which both gray and blue buttons disappeared from my "get more dice" area and I stopped getting the option to watch videos for free dice, and also the option to earn free dice by checking out other apps and fill out surveys, etc. I recently connected the two events, removed the ad-blocker app from my device, and now receive these two options again! I wonder if Scopely puts an ad-blocker on your device when you buy rolls.

ReplyDeleteFor the people asking how to retrieve their earned or free scrathers, on my phone it's up in the right hand corner you will see the 3 dots stacked on top of each other, if you click on that it should open a list of things including "Srcatchers" just click on it and your scratchers will pop up. Good luck!!

I contacted them through their help, issues, contact and they have replied that it is an ongoing issue and to be patient. My husband also has an android and has never bought bonus rolls and he is still getting them daily. So also mentioned this to them and they are telling me that is not what has caused it. Curious, if any of you that are not able to get the free videos did you purchase any prior to that happening?

DeleteSame issue with me. I did a couple of scratchers and had a total of 23 bonus rolls. Then played on a game and did not use any bonus rolls but when I went back to scratchers I only had 20 bonus rolls left.

I have never bought rolls and have no ad-blocker app. Shipley just say they are aware of it, but it looks from these blogs that it's been happening for months. ReplyDeleteAs far as the scratchers for bonus rolls goes, well they are a joke. I mean really you shouldn't go through 15 of them without winning a single bonus roll. As much money as the company has made already from people buying rolls it wouldn't hurt for them to throw a bone of a bonus roll to people on scratchers..at least 1 out of every 3. All the changes to the game have caused a lot of people to stop playing. The need for so many bonus rolls for one. I know why the company has programmed the games with the need for bonus rolls to help in the games..it's obvious, because once you run out they want you to go buy them. Sorry I've been wanting to get this out for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI used up my last 268 scratchers and only 7 scratchers netted me a total of 8 bonus rolls. That's so absurd. You know they're not random because if you buy 10 scratchers they guarantee at least one winner.

ReplyDeleteYep, as soon as I purchased bonus rolls I stopped getting the watch videos for the free rolls. I complained and got the standard "we are aware of the issue and are working on it". Such a rip off.
ReplyDeleteBut now on "earn bonus rolls" every once in a while you can watch a video, so they did do that. I just got 5 of them. I guess they finally heard enough complaints and are trying although it is through a different way. You have to go looking for it. Like I said it's under the "Earn bonus rolls" where you can also buy them. Hope that helps. It's not everyday so you just have to keep checking.

ReplyDeleteFor those wondering why they can no longer see videos to earn dice rolls, the same thing happened to me and I contacted their support to ask if there was a glitch. This was their response:
ReplyDelete"We are limited on the number of videos which we're capable of showing. This means that we have to take steps to ensure that all players have the chance to watch videos and receive bonus roll. At times this means we may end up needing to limit how many videos a player can watch in order to keep this fair for everyone."
In other words, if you watch them every day they're going to cut you off, hoping you purchase them. Their goals are hard enough to reach in order to win even with the bonus rolls, let alone if you don't have any.
To turn the sound off - go to your profile by clicking on the icon in the upper left corner, then click on the options in the upper right corner (3 horizontal lines), and click on Settings. Scroll down and remove the checkmark next to Sound.
